Newborn Photographer Cypress TX, Peer Pressure

As parents, we work daily to keep our children safe, to guide them in the correct direction. However, in this day and age, our babies are influenced big time by outside sources. Back when I was growing up, my parents only mentioned school friends as potential “peer pressure“; today, parents have to deal with so much more than just school friends. Technology has allowed many other influences to open and be threats to how we want to raise our children.

Wikipedia defines “peer pressure“ as: ”the direct influence on people by peers, or the effect on an individual who is encouraged and wants to follow their peers by changing their attitudes, values or behaviors to conform to those of the influencing group or individual. For the individual, this can result in either a positive or negative effect, or both.”

Today, we not only have friends, but... social media. Yep! The big one! Social media can be good if we allow ourselves to take a break and not let it be our actual “social life”. It can be something to worry about for our children though. Our newborns grow into children, then teenagers, then adults. It is our hope, as parents, that we’ve built a strong Christian foundation for them to grow and learn from.
